Around 8500 Germans informed us by phone, paper letter and e-mail about their first contacts with
foreign Euro coins.
They reported data and place (we used the ZIP codes) and sort and origin countries of the coins.
Of course, this is not a good sampling scheme,
but nevertheless, it has yielded interesting and acceptable results.
We came to the following statements:
the different coin sorts show a different behaviour
the homelands play an interesting role,
the spatial distribution of the locations of the Euro reporters in Germany
shows an interesting pattern,
giving information about the travel activities and the intensity of
reports of the media about our project Euromobil.
