Arrival at Dresden Airport

There is a city rail (S-Bahn) connection to the main Dresden train station (Dresden Hauptbahnhof) every 30 minutes. The trains leave from below the airport terminal building. Train times can be found at the Deutsche Bahn website. The fare to Dresden is 1,90 EUR and tickets can be purchased at the machines located on the platform. If you don't have enough change or time the train personnel will also let you buy a ticket on the train if you look convincingly foreign and confused. It takes about 20 minutes to get to Dresden Hauptbahnhof from the airport.

If you're in a hurry there are also taxis available for the ride to the Hauptbahnhof, the fare is around 15 EUR.

From Dresden Hauptbahnhof trains to Freiberg leave roughly twice an hour. Tickets can be bought at ticket machines or at the ticket counter. There's only one train stop in Freiberg. The trip takes roughly 40 minutes.
