Workshop Diskrete Optimierung
19. Workshop on (Discrete) Optimization
Holzhau, May 17 - 20, 2010
Institut für Numerische Mathematik und Optimierung
TU Bergakademie Freiberg

We cordially invite you to the 19. Workshop on (discretre) optimization, which continues the tradition of biannual workshops on that topic.

The workshop will take place in the Fischerbaude in Holzhau, locatred in the Ore Mountains south of Freiberg. The participation fee will be approximately 250 Euro. It includes registration, accomodation (in a double bed room, single bed room costs extra, all meals from Monday evening till lunch on Thursday). The number of participants is restricted to about 35.

Mathematical Programming (Optimization) is a living field of research. It has seen recently a convergence of different fields in optimization. Discrete optimization problems are solved using semidefinite programming, global optimization in nonconvex programming often uses branching procedures known from discrete optimization, nonconvex optimization problems as mathematical programs with equilibrium constraints are combinatorial in nature.

Special topics of interest are discrete optimization, finite-dimensional continuous programming, multicriteria optimization, and applications of them.

People interested to participate the Workshop are kindly asked to preregister informally. This can be done by sending an e-mail to Stephan Dempe containing the following information:
  • your last and first name
  • Affiliation
  • postal and e-mail-address
  • the topic of your presentation, if you like to give one.
