AMS 1991 Mathematics Subject Classification

In der "Mathematics Subject Classification" von 1991 der American Mathematical Society sind in einem Katalog von 121 Seiten Umfang hunderte von Teilgebieten der Mathematik aufgelistet, in die sämtliche erscheinenden mathematischen Arbeiten eingeordnet werden können. In dem folgenden Auszug aus dieser Liste sind nur die Hauptgebiete aufgeführt; die Lücken in der Numerierung sind freie Stellen für zukünftige Entwicklungen. In die Gebiete ab der Nummer 68 werden mathematische Arbeiten eingeordnet, die sich mit Themen außerhalb der Mathematik befassen.
